Welcome to the City of San Bruno Utility Billing. San Bruno understands that utility services are a vital part of our daily lives. To ensure San Bruno residents and businesses have water to use and wastewater collected, the San Bruno Public Services Department repairs, replaces and maintains current water and sewer pipelines and mains. |

Utility Billing is responsible for billing customers, collecting and applying payments, and scheduling water serviceconnections. As for garbage services, the City of San Bruno contracted Recology San Bruno to provide all garbage related services. If you have questions regarding your utility services or cannot find the answer in our Frequently Asked Questions, please contact our customer service representatives at (650) 616-7086. The Utility Billing Division of the Finance Department is opened Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm. For questions regarding garbage service or to change garbage service, please contact the Recology San Bruno at (650) 583-8536. |

C-1: Light Commercial
Examples: Laundry/Launderette for public use; Barbershop; Bar/Tavern without cooking facilites;
Car Wash; Hospital; Animal Hospital.
C-2: Medium (General) Commercial
Examples: Beauty Shops, Hotel/Motel, Dry Cleaners and Commercial Laundries, Markets/Grocery Stores
where the primary activity is retail sales of fresh, frozen and packaged foods; Professional and other
Business Offices;, Department Stores; Retail Stores; Service Stations and automotive repair (without steam cleaning),
and other businesses that are not in another classification.
C-3: Heavy Commercial
Examples: Restaurants; Bakeries; Fast Food Restaurants; Caterers; and Markets with food grinders;
businesses engaged in cooking and preparation of foods for consumption (whether consumed on or off the
premises); and Mortuarie.
C-4: Special Commercial
Examples: Automotive services or machinery repair businesses with steam cleaners; septage disposal.
G: Institutional and Governmental
Examples: Churches; Clubs; Lodges; Schools; Federal Facilities; other public facilities.
I-1: Light Industrial
Chemical oxygen Demand (COD) not exceeding 574 mg/liter; and,
Suspended Solids (SS) not exceeding 153 mg/liter
I-2: Significant Industrial Users exceeds load factors of light industrial
Charges shall be calculated on rate per unit plus additional charges for COD and SS load factors as certified
by the Public Services Director.
