Almost one month after being deployed to the Summit Fire in Santa Cruz, Engine 51 was deployed to the Trabing Fire near Watsonville. This is the second strike team deployment in June and already the third deployment this fire season.
Engine 51 spent 2 days in Larkin Valley providing structure protection to the area's residences. From there, they were sent to Humboldt county for 6 days to provide structure protection and public relations to the community of Shelter Cove. Engine 51 and the strike team then traveled to Redding (aka the Shasta lightning complex) where they provided structure protection as well as cutting fire lines.
