Fire Suppression
Armed with some of the best training, equipment, and personnel we provide 24 hour 365 days a year coverage for the city as well as providing aid to surrounding cities throughout the county. On occasion we even go out of the county as a Strike Team to help those in need at large events such as wildland fires.
The SBFD provides city coverage using two strategically located stations. One station is on the west side of the city and serves the residents on the west side of Interstate 280. This station is designated station 52. Housed at that station is Engine 52 and three personnel per day.
The other station, designated station 51 is centrally located and serves the residents east of Interstate 280. This station houses Engine 51, Truck 51, Battalion 16, Fire Prevention, and the Fire administration.
When an event calls for specialized equipment or more resources, the apparatuses from either station will respond anywhere in the city. Also equipment and personnel from other cities may come to aid as part of the San Mateo County deployment plan.
Through specialized training and cutting edge equipment, the San Bruno Fire Department provides protection to the citizens of our city.
