Projects in Design
The process invloved in managing a project from conception to final closeout often requires many steps. For example, some complex projects--such as a sewer main replacement or building construction--may require the expertise of civil engineers specializing in the design of those types of projects. Once fully designed, most projects then undergo a public bidding process to award a construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder. After the public bidding process ends, the City Council awards the contract and staff works to ensure that the necessary paperwork and insurance documents are complete. Only then can construction begin. Though sometimes lengthy, this process ensures residents receive well-executed projects in a cost-effecitve manner.
