What's Happening Now
The City has been undergoing the preparation process for the Bayhill Specific, which encompasses the Bayhill Office Park and nearby areas since May 2017.The San Bruno City Council approved the Bayhill Specific Plan and Phase 1 of YouTube's campus expansion at their meeting on September 28, 2021 and October 12, 2021.With this approval, the Bayhill Specific Plan will guide future development within the Plan Area for the next 20 years.
YouTube's Phase 1 development includes the construction of two new office buildings totaling 440,000 square feet at 900 and 1000 Cherry Avenue. The Phase 1 project also includes, the straightening of Grundy Lane, the incorporation of a publicly accessible privately owned plaza at the northeast corner of Cherry Avenue and Grundy Lane, the demolition of the Lakes Buildings located at 1150-1250 Bayhill Drive, and the incorporation of a Multi-Modal Transportation Hub located at 950 Elm Avenue. YouTube is expected to move forward with the Phase 1 expansion as soon as possible by seeking construction permits and other project approval needed to move forward.
