Middle School Sports Leagues
The middle school leagues are sponsored and run by the San Bruno Recreation Division. San Bruno teams will play in the N.C.R.L., North County Recreation League, and will compete with teams from Millbrae, South San Francisco, Brisbane, Pacifica, Burlingame, and Hillsborough. This program is open to all 6th -8th grade youth who reside in or are enrolled at a school within San Bruno.
Please note: Leagues may be modified or put on hold due to COVID-19. This page is for informational purposes and leagues are not guaranteed at this time.
Become a volunteer coach!
Coach elementary and middle school teams in volleyball, basketball, flag football, golf, cross country, and field sports. Complete the Volunteer Form (pdf) and email to the Youth Sports Coordinator at JCarlisle@sanbruno.ca.gov.

February - April
Evaluation Days will be emailed to registering parent or guardian. Please note: Practice days and times are at the discretion of the coach and facility availability.
• Supervision before and after practice is the responsibility of the registered participant's parent or legal guardian.
• All enrolled participants will be placed on a team.
• There are evaluation days that all participants must attend. Teams will be determined by evaluations. Team placement requests will not be granted..
• The top rated players will be put on the "A" & "BB" teams. All other players will be put on "B" teams.
• Eligibility must be cleared and will be monitored by school administration. There will be no refunds to students that become ineligible due to GPA or behavior.
• Game dates and times will be decided by the N.C.R.L. Board of Directors. Game schedules will be distributed one week before games begin.

The San Bruno Middle School league will be sponsored and run by the San Bruno Recreation Division this winter. San Bruno teams will play in the N.C.R.L., North County Recreation League, and may compete with teams from Millbrae, Burlingame, Hillsborough, South San Francisco, and Brisbane. This program is open to all students in 6th, 7th & 8th grade enrolled at Parkside Intermediate School, private schools in San Bruno as well as any San Bruno resident youth not attending a San Bruno Park School District School.
The N.C.R.L. Bowling League season will be held weekly on Tuesdays from 4:30pm - 6:30pm Feb 14-Mar 21 at Classic Bowl, 900 King Dr., Daly City, CA 94015.
Once registered, participants can choose to form teams of either mixed doubles, mixed trios, or mixed fours depending on registration. Teams can be formed from combined cities. Friends can bowl with friends from other schools!
SPRING SPORTS
April- May
Golf practices will be held in the San Bruno Golf Center. All matches will be played at Mariners Point Golf Course in Foster City.
Please note: Practice days and times are at the discretion of the coach and facility availability.
• Supervision before and after practice is the responsibility of the registered participant's parent or legal guardian.
• All enrolled participants will be placed on a team.
• There may be limited enrollment in each team.
• Eligibility must be cleared and will be monitored by school administration. There will be no refunds to students that become ineligible due to GPA or behavior.
• Game dates and times will be decided by the N.C.R.L. Board of Directors. Game schedules will be distributed one week before games begin.
Tennis practices will be held at the tennis courts in San Bruno City Park. Matches will be played in San Bruno City Park and other N.C.R.L. tennis court sites.

Track & Field practices will be held on the track at Capuchino High School.

• There may be limited enrollment in each team.
• Eligibility must be cleared and will be monitored by school administration. There will be no refunds to students that become ineligible due to GPA or behavior.
• Meet dates and times will be decided by the N.C.R.L. Board of Directors.
• Meet schedules will be distributed one week before games begin. Supervision before and after practice is the responsibility of the registered participant's parent or legal guardian.
FALL SPORTS
September - October
• Teams are limited to 9 participants, but must have a minimum of 8 players registered by the deadline. Team placement will be determined by evaluation over the first 2 weeks.
• 6th grade teams will be split evenly skill wise.
• 7th and 8th grade teams will split as evenly in number as possibly based on total registration. The top rated players at evaluations will be placed on the A team and the remaining players on the B team. There may be multiple B teams if more than 26 participants are registered. 7th and 8th grade teams be combined this year if registration minimums are not met.
• Eligibility to play will be cleared and monitored by school administration. There will be no refunds to students that become ineligible due to GPA or behavior.
September - October
• Practice days will be determined based on coach schedule and facility availability. Participants will be notified of practice days . The season runs through the end of October.
• Teams are limited to 12 participants, but must have a minimum of 10 players registered by the deadline. Registering guardian will be notified of participant practice dates and times.
• Team placement will be determined by evaluation over the first 2 weeks.6th grade teams will be split evenly skill wise.7th and 8th grade teams will split as evenly in number as possibly based on total registration. The top rated players at evaluations will be placed on the A team and the remaining players on the B team. There may be multiple B teams if more than 30 participants are registered.
• 7th and 8th grade teams be combined this year if registration minimums are not met. Practice days and times are at the discretion of the coach and facility availability.
• Scrimmages will begin the first week of October and teams may be scheduled for scrimmages 1-2 times per week. Scrimmages may fall on any day Monday - Friday. Half of the scrimmages will be played at the Parkside Field and the other half will be played away at the opponent's designated home field. Scrimmage schedules will be given out a week before they begin. Supervision before and after practice is the responsibility of the registered participant's parent or legal guardian.

September - October

• Participants will be notified of practice days. The season runs until the beginning of November. All information will be sent to the registering guardian. No refunds will be issued once practices begin.
• There must have a minimum of 10 participants registered by the deadline. There are no evaluations needed for this team.
• Participants of all grades will practice together, but will compete within their grade and gender.
• Practice days and times are at the discretion of the coach and facility availability.
• Meets will be held in Pacifica, Millbrae, Burlingame and San Bruno. Meet schedules will be given out a week before the meets begin.
• Supervision before and after practice is the responsibility of the registered participant's parent or legal guardian.
• Eligibility to play will be cleared and monitored by school administration. There will be no refunds to students that become ineligible due to GPA or behavior.
November - January
• Practice days will be determined based on coach schedule and facility availability. Participants will be notified of practice days in November.
• The season runs until the end of January. All information will be sent to the registering guardian. No refunds will be issued once practices begin.
• Teams are limited to 9 participants, but must have a minimum of 7 players registered by the deadline.
• Registering guardian will be notified of participant evaluation dates and times.
• Team placement will be determined by evaluations.7th and 8th grade teams will split as evenly in number as possibly based on total registration. The top rated players at evaluations will be placed on the A team, the BB team, and the remaining players on the B team. There may be multiple B teams if more than 27 participants are registered.
• Practice days and times are at the discretion of the coach and facility availability.
• Games will begin the first week of December and teams may be scheduled for games 1-2 times per week. Games may fall on any day Monday - Thursday. Half of the games will be played in San Bruno and the other half will be played away at the opponent's designated home gym.
• Game schedules will be given out a week before the games begin.
• Supervision before and after practice is the responsibility of the registered participant's parent or legal guardian.
• Eligibility to play will be cleared and monitored by school administration. There will be no refunds to students that become ineligible due to GPA or behavior.

- How do I sign up for seasonal youth sports leagues?

Although youth sports' sign-ups are normally held at the Recreation Division, the individual sports organizations actually process the registrations. The Recreation staff never takes registrations for non-departmental youth sports. Youth sports' contact names and phone numbers can be found in the Recreation Services Department Quarterly Activity Guide.
