February 2024

• Completed: North Classrooms Partition soffit painted and t-bar ceiling, framing of corridor gyp ceiling, showers/restrooms/lockers epoxy flooring, natatorium interiors epoxy flooring, hang gypsum board at the south and east walls, party rooms exterior sheathing, generator topping slab poured, parking lot sidewalk poured, concrete sidewalk adjacent to Plaza. 
• Installed: first floor restroom hand dryers, second floor fire alarm devices, corridor flooring, natatorium interiors roll up door, beam in the pool pump room, natatorium exterior stone veneer, truncated domes at the pedestrian bridges' approach.
• In Progress: data room network equipment, gymnasium wood floor installation, sanding, and striping, group exercise room wood floor and Installation of outlets, elevator hanging of gypsum board and electrical, drinking fountains, showers/restrooms/lockers wall tiles, plumbing fixtures, and toilet partitions and accessories, trash enclosure roof, flashings, and copings, kid's play yard foundation and wall, parking lot re-grading, Community Plaza trellis installation, outdoor pool scoreboard electrical wall installation, PG&E Gas Rotary Meter Installation.

January 2024

• Completed: Removal of trailers from the RAC Parking Lot, water tightness tests at outdoor pool and wading pool, storm drain at the outdoor pool retaining wall, conduits for PG&E power at the new pole, testing of lights, chemical room roof poured, framing and sheathing of operable partition soffit, installation of elevator 1, t-bar installation at 1st and 2nd floor offices 
• Installed: CMU installation at the Trash and Generator Enclosure, lights under the natatorium ceiling, ducts and framing at the lifeguard room and locker rooms, termination can installed and PG&E pole installed, storefront and windows at the 2nd floor, gymnasium doors, exterior doors at classrooms, clerestory windows installed at the natatorium and gymnasium, ACM panel installation at the high roofs. 
• In Progress: Community Plaza Stairs poured, kids play area parking lot, parking lot grading and concrete work, pedestrian bridge approaches poured, water tightness test at the indoor pool, tiling of locker rooms at natatorium, natatorium inner and outer walls, natatorium ceiling work, PG&E gas pressurized and waiting for PG&E gas meter, gym flooring, installation of ceiling tile in offices.

December 2023

• Installed: case work at first floor offices and classrooms, kitchen equipment, temporary heater placed in the gymnasium;
• In Progress: water tightness tests of outdoor lap pool and wading pool, natatorium walls and HVAC/lighting/painting in the ceiling, chemical room roof, community plaza stairs, kitchen power and gas.

City Park Way was closed to traffic on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 7AM-3PM to off haul surplus soil.  Signage was displayed in and around the area with the planned closure and appropriate temporary detour signage was posted.

April 2023

City Park Way Temporary Closure:  August 2022 - December 2022

Beginning August 1, City Park Way was closed to vehicle and pedestrian access. The road closure was necessary to install the deep utilities (Water, Sewer and Storm), creek and road reconstruction, and other construction activities related to the Recreation and Aquatic Center Project. City Park Way was closed through December 2022.   

Park patrons accessed the park through the pedestrian pathways located:

• near the north end of De Soto Way (the former pool parking lot)
• near Tom Lara field
• near the rear of baseball diamond #2
• near the west end of San Felipe Avenue

Vehicle traffic could not access City Park Way at Crystal Springs/Oak.  Vehicle traffic was detoured down to El Camino Real, and up Santa Lucia Avenue to access the former pool parking lot.  Please use caution in and around the area, and we appreciate your patience as we build our new community facility!

Water Line Installation: The new Recreation and Aquatic Center Project's water line installation occurred from June 27 through approximately July 29, 2022. The construction work took place between the hours of 8:00AM and 5:00PM, Monday through Friday.

Traffic along Crystal Springs Road was limited to one-lane of traffic near City Park Way.  Safety flaggers will be onsite during construction helping with traffic flow in the modified areas.  Questions? Contact Us.

May 2022

Construction activity underway at San Bruno City Park, City Park Way and Crystal Springs Ave.  Lathrop Construction installed temporary construction fencing at the above noted locations to facilitate continued construction activities for the New Recreation and Aquatic Center Project.  In late June 2022, City Park Way closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.   Crystal Springs Ave. will have periodic lane closures and traffic control will be implemented to allow for utility work.  Road closures will be posted on changeable message boards near the work zones prior to start of work.  

The site work hours are 7:00AM and 6:00PM, Monday to Friday.
