It is the goal of the San Bruno Public Library to provide a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for all people. To this end, the Library expects its users to observe the following principles of conduct while in the Library:
- No one may engage in conduct that interferes with anyone else’s ability or right to use and benefit from the Library facilities.
- Refrain from eating and/or sleeping.
- Remain attentive to the children in your charge.
- The Children’s Room is reserved for persons under 18, their caregivers, and other adults actively using the children’s collections.
- Respect library property and the property of other persons.
- Do not harass patrons or staff.
- Refrain from making excessive noise or other disruptive behaviors.
- Persons suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs will be asked to leave. The consumption of alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs are prohibited.
- Do not solicit, petition, panhandle, or request donations from patrons or staff.
- Do not block entrances, exits or aisles.
- Keep all personal belongings within your sight.
- Do not bring large objects such as carts, bicycles and luggage into the Library.
- Do not run or use skateboards, rollerblades or scooters within in the Library.
- Do not move or monopolize furniture with belongings by sitting on tables or putting feet on tables and chairs.
- Strong, pervasive odors are prohibited.
- Shoes and clothing that covers the upper and lower body at all times is required.
Persons who do not comply with this code of conduct may be asked to leave the library.
When necessary, staff may summon the police for assistance.
