Environmental Justice Element and Open Space Element

The City is making changes to its General Plan to align with State Law focused on environmental justice and equity.

Alongside the EJ Element, the City is updating the Open Space and Recreation Element to support equitable access to open space in conformance with SB 1425. The Open Space and Recreation Element Update will aim to improve equitable access to parks and open space, climate resilience, and other open space benefits.

Please check this page for project updates, information about upcoming engagement opportunities, and project documents as they become available.

Equitable community engagement is central to this effort, and there will be multiple opportunities for residents, community organizations, and stakeholders to share input throughout the process.
